Christmas Dinner

Usually, my FIL and I cook Christmas Dinner and other family members bring side dishes to go along with the meal.

This year, we are cheating. We ordered dinner from Boston Market. There will be a few things we add, but for the most part we are picking up the meal and re-heating it on Christmas Day. I can't wait since its less work for me. I'll make a nice big salad, we'll heat up some corn & green beans and maybe some regular buns. My mom will bring the deviled eggs and my SIL will bring a yummy dessert. I've also ordered a spiral cake log from Swiss Colony too.

The meal we ordered this year includes (with a meal that feed 12 people so we can have seconds, we usually have 8 people attending):
Spiral Ham
Mashed Potatoes
Gravy
Sweet Potatoes Casserole
Corn Bread

Dad, don't worry.....we'll have a veggie platter (made at a local grocery store) to munch on before the big meal too.

I know its a lot of short cuts for the meal, but I don't want to be exhausted and not get a chance to enjoy the day. Ordering the meal eliminates all the hard work that goes into preparing a meal.

So, we'll see how the food turns out and if its a hit, maybe we'll do the same next year?!?!
What are your plans for the holidays?

Hey, there's nothing wrong with cutting a few corners - personally I order all the food for my holiday meals so I can spend time near the tree and away from the oven. (I mean, pouring a few cocktails is about as hard as I want to work on Christmas day, ya know?)

Thanks! Its good to know that I'm not the only one who wants to enjoy the day rather then be in the kitchen the whole time!
