Superbowl Ads

This years game was OK. It was a little exciting in the beginning, around half time it got it little stagnant and at the end it was down to the final seconds who would pull off the win. But regardless of who you were routing for, isn't it about the commercials you really watch the game? Well, this year it was for me since my team didn't even make the play-offs.

But, even the commercials were a little dull this year. But there were a few good ones randomly placed here and there which made watching for the good ones like finding a diamond in the rough.

My favorites this year were (not in any order)-

  1. Budweiser - Clydesdale Circus
  2. Pepsi - I'm good
  3. Bridgestone - Astronauts in Space
  4. Monster.com - Moose Double take
  5. Etrade - Singing Baby
  6. Telafloras - Talking Flower
  7. Budweiser - Clydesdale Stick
  8. Doritos - Free Doritos
  9. Miller High Life - 1 second ad
  10. Cash 4 Gold - Ed McMahon & Mc Hammer

What are your favorites from this years game?

One of the many places to check out the ads if you missed them is on youtube.

  1. Apple Picking
  2. Leaves changing to brilliant colors
  3. County Fairs
  4. Sweater Weather
  5. Beautiful fall weather
  6. All the decorations to celebrate fall and Halloween
  7. Carved Pumpkins on display
  8. Halloween/trick-or-treaters
  9. Planting for the Spring
  10. Finishing up the yard for its last grooming before winter

The Smell of Rain

How could I have forgot this on my summer favorite list? I mean, it may have been since it wasn't raining the day I created the list, but hey everyone is allowed a brain slip once in awhile, right?

So, I love the smell of a soft rain in the summer. The type of rain storm where the birds are still outside chirping away or bouncing from puddle to puddle. The kind where there is no threat of thunder storms or sever weather. Its the kind where the smell catches your senses and it just brings you to your favorite outdoor spot. I mean, its so invigorating it makes you stop, close your eyes and you automatically take a deep breath and your imagination runs wild.

The scent is so specific, I couldn't even find a candle at Yankee Candle to capture the it.

I know sunny days and smiles go hand and hand during the summer, but there is also something about a summer shower that does wonders to someones day.

Today at work, I walked into a room where the windows were open and the smell just took me away for a spilt second and it was wonderful. If I could add an eleventh thing I love about summer, it would be the smell of a summer rain shower.

A good book, cup of tea and a cozy blanket!

I have been thinking of my favorite book list for some time now. I have been adding, removing, putting books back on the list and now I have finalized it (well, for now anyway). My list of favorite books (not in a specific order since that would have taken me longer to organize it) is.......
  1. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
  2. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
  3. Something Blue by Emily Griffin
  4. Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner
  5. Wish Club by Kim Strickland
  6. My friend Leonard by James Frey
  7. Dog Handling by Clare Naylor (its not about dogs, its about guys)
  8. The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards
  9. The Secret Life of Bee's by Sue Monk Kidd
  10. Skipping Christmas by John Grisham

I love to read. It takes me away into my imagination, far, far away. Sometimes I can't get enough. I am so passionate when it comes to a good book, its hard to put it down.

When I walk into a books store, weather it be Barnes & Noble or a used book store, I am like a kid in a candy store...I want it all. I get a sugar rush just being in the store. The other day when I walked into B&N, I couldn't get past the first table in the store without picking up 3 books before I actually walked into the store. Of course I put one back since I found different book further into the store, but hey at least its a good obsession right?

So, do you have any favorite books? Any suggestions that I can add to my B&N wish list?

Favorite 80's Music

Its Friday! I was having a flashback moment this morning while I was driving to work & started coming up with a list of my favorite songs from the 80's. Now, most of these I really didn't start to like until after the 80's, but hey, that's OK!

So, I thought it would be fun to share my list. These are some of the songs that I wouldn't change the channel while it was playing, for no reason. There are others that didn't make the list too, but they just slipped my mind for the time being.

My top 10 list is-
  • Crazy For You - Madonna
  • Push It - Salt-n-Pepa
  • Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper
  • Karma Chameleon - Culture Club
  • Take On Me - A-Ha
  • Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears for Fears
  • Cruel Summer - Bananarama
  • Livin' On a Prayer - Bon Jovi
  • Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard
  • Brass Monkey - Beastie Boys
What's yours?

Have a lovely weekend!
